Environment Canada is warning New Brunswickers to prepare for a potentially “significant” storm on Wednesday.

“A developing storm will affect the Maritime provinces on Wednesday,” the special weather statement reads.

“While it is too early to provide specific details, strong winds, heavy rain, and heavy snow will accompany this system.

“Strong winds and snow will begin on Wednesday morning before snow transitions to rain across much of southern and central New Brunswick by Wednesday afternoon.

“There is a brief risk of freezing rain as the transition from snow to rain occurs. Elevated water levels will also be possible near high tide along the Bay of Chaleur coastline on Wednesday. Additional information will be provided as the details become more certain.”
