Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) is gearing up to drill at its West Project in New Brunswick, southwest of the Brunswick No. 12 mine.
In a news release, the Vancouver-based company said it has received all the necessary permits and that Lantech Drilling will be drilling the high-priority targets once it completes the current hole at Nine Mile Brook.
Nine Mile Metals said it has identified nine high-priority target areas in the western camp portfolio, including the recently acquired Wedge Project, which is 20 kilometres southwest of the Brunswick No. 12 mine.
Discovered in 1956, the Wedge Mine is at the northern terminus of a strong magnetic linear.
To the northwest, the West Wedge and Tribag lie along the west flank of a similar magnetic anomaly near parallel to the one at the Wedge. Previous drilling intersected 12.8 per cent zinc, 5.35 per cent lead, 0.78 per cent copper, 70.6 g/t silver and 1.30 g/t gold over 3.8 metres. The mineralization at the West Wedge and Tribag occur within the sediments and volcanics of the Spruce Lake Formation of the California Lake Group.
“We are excited to test these high-priority targets identified by our three technology systems and now that the hunting season break is over, we are ready to get back to our fall drill program,” Patrick J. Cruickshank, CEO of Nine Mile Metals, said in a statement. “We will also test the Wedge Mine at depth and along trend of the ‘Cominco Extension’ that Cominco identified and scheduled to drill but never executed.”
Nine Mile Metals is focused on critical minerals exploration in the Bathurst Mining Camp in New Brunswick.
Shares of Nine Mile Metals are up 8.33 per cent to C$0.06 as of 12:35 pm ET.
