As the club took the spirit of the Christmas season to heart, it extended its hand in generosity to those in need.

Christmas Charity

The club’s compassionate outreach included providing donations of chicken, beans, and toiletries to the Grotto Home for the Homeless. They also served a wholesome lunch to thirty less fortunate individuals on December 17, embodying the true spirit of Christmas. Their benevolent efforts culminated in a heartfelt ceremony on December 23, where Christmas hampers were distributed to three deserving individuals. These included two former club members affected by strokes and a senior citizen. The club’s commitment to community development and good cheer was unmistakable during these events.

Projects and Partnerships

Despite these generous contributions, Somerset Sports Club expressed regret at not being able to complete their Concrete Wicket project, a centerpiece for their 60th anniversary. Unforeseen circumstances led to the delay of this project, meant to underpin a comprehensive youth development program. However, they remain hopeful to finish it early in the New Year, thereby bolstering their commitment to youth and sports development. The club also contributed educationally, providing materials to local students through a partnership, thereby reinforcing its commitment to holistic community development.
