Dominica: Twenty-four to receive meritorious service awards in 2023

Meritorious Service Awards will be bestowed to 24 individuals as Dominica observes its 45th anniversary of independence.  

Businessmen Karl Nassief, Daryl Williams, Edrick Robinson, Patrick Pemberton and Child Welfare Advocate, Martin Anthony will receive Dominica’s second-highest award, the Sisserou Award of Honour.  

The following persons will receive the Meritorious Service Award:  

• Cynthia Agnes Joseph (Sports) 
• Fabierre Adler Hamlet (Electrical Engineering) 
• Gloria Septra Augustus (Social Services) 
• Yoland Jno-Jules (Public Service)  
• Orrin Jolly (Business) 
• Renneth Alexis (Business) 
• Sun Hoajie (Chinese Agricultural Mission) 
• Sobers Esprit (Culture) 
• Kendell Johnson (Public Service Engineering) 
• Samuel Carrette (Community Development) 
• Clement Royer (Business) 
• Maximin Victorine (Construction) 
• Allan Paul (Economics) 
• Daniel Langlois (Business) 
• Lisa White (Culture)  
• Asa Edwards (Music)  

Meanwhile, Marian George (Tourism), Cecil Joseph (Agriculture) and Ashton Shillingford (Media) will receive the Services Medal of Honour.  

The awards will be presented on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Independence Day Observance Ceremony.
