Chinese New Year starts on February 10 in 2024, and is the most important holiday on the Chinese calendar, with many traditions. Some of the typical practices are families gather together for dinner; they eat dishes that symbolize good fortune and health; children wear new clothes and receive red envelopes with money that will bring them good luck for the upcoming new year, and everyone cleans up their clutter to “remove the old and welcome the new.”

The New Brunswick Library is located at 60 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

This program is made possible by the Friends of the New Brunswick Free Public Library.
