Fresh off their bronze medal win, the UNBC Timberwolves Men’s Basketball team is looking to the future.
Head Coach Todd Jordan announced the commitment of 6’2″ combo guard Marcus Wilson of Miramichi, New Brunswick.
Wilson is the reigning Grade 12 New Brunswick Athlete of the Year, averaging 25.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 4 steals per game during his recent high school season with the Moncton High Purple Knights.
Wilson also played for the 506 Elite Prep club team in the National Senior Circuit, and has represented New Brunswick provincially on numerous occasions.
“I really like the fit of the UNBC program for me and how the players have a great chemistry together,” Wilson said.
“The guys are great. There’s a great bond and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
“UNBC has a great campus and a great gym, I like the facility. It seems like a great place to get an education and there’s lots of help and support for academics,” he continued.
“We’re really excited to have Marcus commit to our team. We think he’s got a big upside,” said Head Coach Todd Jordan.
“He is a good athlete that can really shoot the ball and has been a high-level scorer with both his prep team at 506 Elite and team New Brunswick in the summer.”
“It is exciting for us to bring in a prospect of his calibre from the the other side of the country and we think he is going to fit very well with our group of guys.”
Wilson will join the Timberwolves for the 2024-2025 season.
