A pair of separate narcotics investigations landed two men in jail Wednesday evening facing drug charges.
Guadalupe County Narcotics Task Force arrested the two men — one in Seguin and one in Schertz — as a result of their alleged illegal activities, Guadalupe County Narcotics Task Force Lt. John Flores said.
The officers first arrested 18-year-old Jack Bernal, of San Antonio, just before 7 p.m. in the 16000 block of Interstate 35 in Schertz, Flores said.
“Bernal was arrested by the Guadalupe County Narcotics Taskforce during a narcotics operation after he was found to be in possession approximately 202 grams of THC Cartridges and a handgun,” he said.
As officers further investigated, they found the gun was reported stolen out of San Antonio, Flores said.
Additionally, Bernal was reportedly in possession of 10.2 grams of marijuana, Flores said.
Bernal was arrested and booked into Guadalupe County Jail on manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 2 between 4 and 400 grams and theft of firearm, where he remains held on bonds totaling $100,000.
An hour later, a separate investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Landon Ventura, of Bandera, Flores said.
A narcotics operation led officers to the 2700 block of North Austin Street, where they reportedly found Ventura in possession of 522 grams of methamphetamine, Flores said.
Ventura was arrested and booked into Guadalupe County Jail on a charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 more than 400 grams, where he remains held on $80,000 bond.
