NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A woman pointed a handgun with a laser attached to it at another woman last Thursday night outside the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, said police, in what appeared to be a dispute over a parking spot in front of the hotel.
The woman, a 40-year-old Edison resident, was criminally charged, as was a 31-year-old Plainfield man who was with her.

The Heldrich Hotel is a three-star hotel in the heart of New Brunswick, right in the center of the city’s theater and comedy club/nightclub district. It is located across the street from State Theatre New Jersey and the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center.
This happened at approximately 10:54 p.m. Sept. 28: New Brunswick Police said a parking dispute occurred in front of the hotel. During the dispute, a woman said the occupants of a car pointed a firearm with a laser at her, while making numerous threats.
The suspects then fled the area in their car. The woman was not injured. The two suspects were later located by New Brunswick Police and taken into police custody.
Tamika Brandon, 40, of Edison was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault and terroristic threats. David Legrand-Bowers, 31, of Plainfield, was charged with terroristic threats.
The Heldrich Hotel is a high-end hotel, spa and conference center in the heart of the city of New Brunswick and is an anchor for New Brunswick’s downtown business, fine dining and entertainment scene.
