A teenage boy was arrested after another teenage boy died and two more were wounded in a stabbing on Saturday morning, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 1 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office said patrol deputies responded to a residence in Guadalupe in the 5700 block of East Calle Brigido Valenzuela for reports of a stabbing. While deputies were at the scene, a juvenile was taken into custody, officials said.
The Sheriff’s Office later said a 14-year-old was arrested in connection with the stabbing.
Officials said a 15-year-old boy died at the hospital due to his injuries and a 19-year-old man was in serious but stable condition after being stabbed. Another 14-year-old boy was in stable condition after he was also stabbed.
A 46-year-old man took himself to a hospital to be treated for blunt-force trauma injuries he sustained during the incident, according to officials.
The Sheriff’s Office said initial reports indicate that the stabbing took place at a party. Officials said witnesses saw a physical fight break out in the driveway after a verbal argument.
The name of the victim will not be released due to their age, the Sheriff’s Office said. Officials said the suspect’s name would only be released if he was remanded as an adult and booked into jail.
No other information was released as detectives continued to investigate, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
